Employees wouldf not be able to make more than the president — $400,000 — until the company no longerf relies on federal assistance from the $700 billiob bailout of the financial sector, McCaskill’s office The cap would include salary, bonusee and stock options. McCaskill’s actiom comes a day aftetr President Obama termedas “shameful” a report that Wall Street executivesa received bonuses of roughly $18 billionn for 2008.
In a transcript of McCaskill’s statement from the flootr ofthe Senate, the senator said that “probably more than what we need in this countr right now is confidence, confidence that we can face down thes e problems and move forward like America has always “And what do we have instead of confidence? Everyone I work for is mad. You anger can be constructive if wechannel it. And I’ m here today to say it’s time that we channel this angert and changethe law. We don’t need anger.
