GM Tonawanda hosting recycling event - Sacramento Business Journal:

The one-day event June 6 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Planft 5 on Vulcan Street, is co-sponsoredr by Erie County, Buffalo and the Northwest Solidr WasteManagement Board. Last year’s event receivesd 56,325 pounds of electronic equipment, 247 bicyclesd and a truck fullof clothing. Electronics equipmentg is a source ofrecycled steel, plastic, copper and glass. Items being accepted this year include: TVs, computers, keyboards, printers, fluorescent bulbs, cell rechargeable batteries, VCRs, and DVD clothing, textiles, and bicycles. Clothiny and textiles will be reused at Goodwill retail locationsor recycled.
Bicycles will be used for bike safety education or recycled by Blue Bicycleand Recycle-a-Bicyclee programs. New for this year, Buffalo ReUse will accepf used ornew hand, shop and garden tools, such as brooms, ladders, wheelbarrows, hammers and “This is a natural extension of what we do at Plant Manager Steve Fincnh said in a statement. “Our plant has been landfill-frewe in manufacturing since 2006.
