The Dayton-based real estate which has offices in Cincinnatuand Columbia, is building a 465,000-square-foot distribution facilityg for Atlanta-based (NYSE: HD). The $25 million regional distributioh center will serve 150 stores in South andNorth Carolina, Tennessees and parts of Georgia. It will alloaw Home Depot to offer a greater variett of products in each individual Kurt Eyring, vice president of construction with Miller-Valentine, said the buildingg has an aggressive timetable for only 28 weeks. He said the company’s experienced allows it to build the massive structureso quickly.
“Inm a project like this, we will be pouringy footers, standing wall panels and putting on a roof all at the same Eyring said in anews release. The tilt-up concrete building will include 171 dock doorsand 18,00o square feet of officde space. The building will cover 11 acres undedrits roof. The distribution cente is expected to employ approximately 300 peopls onceit opens. The new center is a part of a 290-acr e master-planned development in Lexington South Carolina has been a growth marketgfor Miller-Valentine. In January, the firm announcexd it had begun construction ona 176,000-square-foot distribution center in the state and already had landex its first anchor tenant.
Last the company completed a 150,000-square-foot speculative industrial buildin gin Orangeburg, S.C. Miller-Valentine has several divisions includin g commercial andresidential construction, property leasing and properth management.
