Fla., Orlando again tops in foreclosures - Charlotte Business Journal:

The state posted 58,9311 foreclosure filings — including default scheduled auctions and bank repossessions in May, down 8.8 percent from April’ws total, but still 50 percent higher than May according to RealtyTrac’s monthly Foreclosure Marker Report. Only California had a highetr total, with 92,249 properties with May 2009 foreclosure filings. The Sunshinse State was No. 3 in the nationh in foreclosure rates, with one in every 148 households receiving a foreclosures filingin May. Nevada led the country with one in everyy 64 homes receivinga filing, while Californiq was second highest with one in every 144. The Orlando-Kissimmer market took the No.
8 spot amonvg the nation’s top 10 metro areax with the highestforeclosure rates. The area recorded a rate of one foreclosuree filing for every101 homes. Florida had three citieas among the top 10metro areas, whilde California had six cities among that mix. Las Vegas toppe d the list with a rate of one in evert 54 households getting aforeclosurd filing. Nationwide, 321,480 foreclosure filings were reporteddin May, which is 6 percent lowerr than April 2009, but aboutf 18 percent higher than May 2008. One in ever y 398 U.S. homes received a foreclosure noticelast month. Vermontg again recorded the lowest number of with six reportedin May, or one for every 51,90 6 households.
