In a filing with the Securitiex and Exchange Commission after the market closedon Friday, the Overland Park-based propande retailer (NYSE: FGP) reported earnings available to commoh shareholders of $32.5 or 48 cents a share, for the quarter. This comparezs with earnings of $34.8 million, or 55 centd a share, for the same period last Revenue for the quarterwas $561.21 million, down from $712.1 million last year. Ferrellgas said in the SEC filinb that lower propane pricezs contributed tothe quarter’s lower The company said it sold 239.2 milliohn gallons of propane during the quarter, down 5 perceny from 252.1 million gallons in the same quartere last year.
Retail saleas volumes decreased mainly because of temperatures that were 5 percent warmeer than last year and customer conservation related to the weak thecompany said. Ferrellgas ranks No. 10 on the Kansaes City BusinessJournal ’ list of area public companies.
